Brad's been shooting some commercial work for Paul Brown.  When he shoots commercial work, he plays around with shots, too, once he has what he thinks the client is after.  Here are some of my favorite shots he recently took, even though they may or may not be ones the client chooses.  I just love the lighting and perspective in these.

Mini Weddings

We offer mini weddings now!  What is a mini wedding, you ask?  Quite simply, the perfect package for small, low key weddings.  The details:  for weddings falling on weekdays and Sundays throughout the year and currently, Saturdays in August of 2013.  $500 for three hours of continuous photography, unlimited locations, unlimited photos taken and a printable disk with all the images from the day (you can print up to 8x10).  Here are a few pics from some minis we've shot this year.

Instagram

Brad and Suz are now on Instagram.  We are having fun shooting with our iPod cameras and experimenting with the Hipstamatic.  Some of the lenses and films there remind us of old toy film cameras like the Diana camera.  Follow us if you like.   We are jasper674 and suzippity.

Christina and Craig's Wedding by Photosmith, Cincinnati Wedding Photographers

Brad shot his first wedding of 2013 on the 9th.  We've been having unusually good weather and that's always nice when shooting outdoor photos.  This was a fun group from the looks of the photos.  The wedding party was small, but there was no shortage of fun.  Brad took some photos around the Cincinnatian Hotel and Fountain Square before heading over to Garfield Park.  The reception took place at the Bell Event Center, downtown.  Instead of a guest sign in album, the couple had friends and family write a message on a smooth stone in permanent marker and then

place the stones in a tall vase.  What a great keepsake!  Another fun thing they did, which we had never experienced but hope to again, was the couple went around to all the tables for the length of only one song and had photos made with all the guests.  It was fun and quick encouraged people to make funny pics at the request of the bride and groom.  Super fun way to get photos made with everyone!

Best Cake Topper Award 2012

I'm not sure if we gave out the Best Cake Topper Award in 2011, but we are now announcing the winner of 2012.  There is no prize, just the honour of being the title holder.  :)  Joining the ranks of such previous winners Rick and Leslie Wolf and Priya and Kyle Wattula are.......(drum roll, please)  Trisha Cohen and Alan Lewis!  To the best of my recollection, their vintage cake topper was used on the cake of Trisha's grandparents.  I'm a sucker for sentiment, what can I say?  Here is a picture of their beautiful cake and the 2012 Best Cake Topper.

New Website Launched Today!

We've been updating the website the past few days and made a few changes to this blog, too.  We've got lots of new pictures on our website, www.photosmith1.com, from some fantastic events and great clients we've had the pleasure to photograph over the past few years.  There are a couple of new sections on the site, too, including a Promotions section which shows what specials we are currently running.  Right now we've got a Be My Valentine special for 10% off wedding packages.  Details can be found at http://www.photosmith1.com/index2.php?v=v1#!/Promotions.  We've also introduced our new Mini Wedding Packages for small but sweet weddings. Another new experience we've added is the Just for Fun section which will be an image gallery of photos from Brad and Suz's personal photo albums. We are treating this section kind of like a photo sketch book and journal:  stuff we photograph when we aren't working, a few travel photos (don't worry, just a few, not hundreds and hundreds of vacay pics), some of our hiking pics, family and friends, our dog, art projects that aren't fully developed and things that don't fit into a broader scope yet but might bloom into something else, and basically just anything personal we want to share. We hope our viewers will get a laugh out of some of them and just enjoy them for what they are.  And we have high hopes to make the blog a more personal experience, too!
